BARN FIND RESURECTION
THE PROCESS
What began as a simple freshening on a 42,000 mile barn find evolved into a far more 'involved' undertaking. #2315 had, indeed, been parked in Stanley Keller's garage and had a cover put over it, but not until he had thoroughly trashed the engine and gearbox. One could say it was 'parked'...

Correction was a process whereby every single part on the car was removed, inspected, repaired or replaced and refinished to cosmetic appearance as it left the factory. As it was a very original car down to the various component tags and markings, it provided a road map to preserve the correctness of the car that was to be followed.

The one single area that was continually mulled-over and debated was the body, or rather, the paint. The car had been covered for 33 years and though the paint was extensively 'orange-peeled', it remained intact and the decision was made to try to preserve the original 40 year old lacquer finish. Hundreds of hours of color-sanding, compounding and polishing has yielded a remarkably intact finish...with a few blemishes (patina?). There simply was too much original paint on the car to warrant a refinish, and the result is, well, exceptional.
